Selena, the queen forever and ever!

    As every Selena fan should know, she was born in Lake Jackson in April 16, 1971. She was the third and last daughter of Abraham and Marcela Quintanilla. And her brother was AB and her sister was Suzette Quintanilla.
    Selena started to adopt singing when her potential was discovered by her father. And so, leading this fact, to her daily debuts in Papagayo's Restaurant (a place own by her family); thus, Sel started singing professionally at the age of 9 !!!
However, the family business went bankrupt, and there was no other way of survival than music. That is when Selena and her family started singing in as many parties or events as they could, "To bring food to the table", as Sel once said;
"We were practically living on the street"...

    Eventually, the Quintanillas got Selena to record her first album, which would be the beginning of a successful career.
As years passed, Selena and her group, Los Dinos, evolved and became more established as a Tejano group (and one of the best).
    And it was in April 2 of 1992, that Sel gave a major step in her life: she got married with her group's guitarrist, Chris Perez.
Still, by that time the fame and achievements of Selena y Los Dinos was growing, and the big hit came in 1994, when Selena won her first Grammy for Selena Live! as the best Mexican-American Album.

    Anyway, another dream of the long beloved artist was to design her own clothes line.
    And so, Selena opened a couple of boutiques in Corpus Christi and San Antonio. But, a terrible mistake was made: a maniac lady was hired to take care of the boutiques and Selena's fan club.....Yolanda Saldívar.
Nevertheless, no one thought of her as the controlling person she was, until Selena was hurt by her.

    It is in March 31 of 1995 that Selena gets shot in a Days-Inn Motel by Yolanda, who calimed it all to be a horrible "accident". Selena dies at 1:05 ....................and her murderer is sentenced to life in prison.

And since then, she's become a legend that will never be forgotten by her fans.!!!!!!!!!!!!
